Our client, McIntyre Dick & Partners, is a successful Chartered Accountancy and Business Advisory firm based in Invercargill. They are an established firm of five partners and 45 staff providing a full range of business, accounting and taxation services for corporate, commercial and rural businesses. McIntyre Dick & Partners – Rural Services has a strong and growing representation in the Rural Services sector, and wish to develop this further.
The opportunity
McIntyre Dick & Partners is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced rural sector accountant with rural sector experience to provide relationship building and accounting services to rural sector clients.
The successful candidate, dependent upon business development and performance, may be offered a partnership in the firm.
Key responsibilities
This role would be responsible to the Rural Services Partners and has responsibility for establishing and maintaining relationships in the farming sector. They would play a major part in the ongoing development and implementation of the strategic and marketing plan for Rural Services.
The successful candidate would be required to maintain current knowledge of livestock and farm management issues. They would play a part in the firm’s staff training pertaining to the rural sector. The successful applicant will play an integral part in new service development strategies.
Key attributes
The preferred candidate will hold an accounting and/or farm management tertiary qualification, and experience in the rural sector. Essential attributes include:
• Strong leadership qualities
• Rural sector knowledge and marketing experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience with financial IT systems
