Our business development manager, Ashley Burdon recently attended the graduation ceremony for the three interns from The Fairlight Foundation.

The Fairlight Foundation's mission is to foster and support career advancement for women in the agriculture industry in NZ, and when Ash found out about their mission and vision to advance women in NZ Ag industry he decided he wanted to help.

One of the key people behind The Fairlight Foundation is their Executive Director Laura Koot who is also the driving force behind her own tourism business Real Country.

Earlier this year Ash spoke to Laura about putting the interns and the team at Fairlight Station through our Team Culture workshop. This is designed to help teams build trust and understand the differences in how we each communicate. Laura was keen, so in July Ash met the team and ran the workshop at the station.

The team had a memorable day with lots of learning and laughs to be had. Ash was stoked to hear the lessons from July still being talked about on the Station 6 months later.

Ash had a real laugh on Graduation day when one of the girls introduced him as the “personality guy”. "I’ve been called a lot of things over the years but never that before". he said.

The team at McIntyre Dick congratulate Emma, Yvonne and Ella on their graduation and a successful year with The Fairlight Foundation. We wish you well as you move forward with your various shepherding jobs all over the country. Give it heaps girls – you will be amazing!
