Autumn update from Rachel Lock
Categories
It’s hard to believe that we are almost quarter of the way through the year – time is absolutely flying. There’s been a lot packed into January and February and plenty on the radar for the months ahead too, and I suspect that’s the same irrespective of who you talk to at the moment!
As you may be aware, Stewart Perkins and Chris Shaw will be retiring from April 2025. If you have been working with either Stu or Chris, they will continue to provide opportunities to meet and engage with your new accountant and Partner. We are acutely aware that relationships are key, and starting our introductions early is part of ensuring there is time to fully hand over the reigns, and to build on the trust and confidence you have with McIntyre Dick.
For those of you who attended the recent Field Days at Waimumu, I hope you had a great time. Our team enjoyed seeing such a large number of people out and about, and having the chance to have a good yarn over a coffee, lunch or an afternoon refreshment! It means a lot to have so many of you pop in and catch up, so thank you for taking the time to do this. I definitely enjoyed meeting a number of you on the Friday and look forward to meeting many more in the year ahead.
As 2024 unfolds, we expect there to continue to be challenges and opportunities aplenty. We hear from many businesses about the challenges they are facing and the many innovative solutions they come up with to navigate these. The one thing that seems to be a theme across most businesses (including our own) is recruiting people. This has resulted in many of us working in different ways and focusing on growing and extending the skill base of the great team members we already have. We’re still actively recruiting into our team so please check out the links in the newsletter below and share with your networks, whanau and friends if you think they’d be a great fit with McIntyre Dick.
As your financial year comes to an end, it’s a great time to take stock and be deliberate about planning what you want this next year to look like. If you need some help with your planning, please reach out to one of our team that you work closely with. If you are looking for some support with business planning or succession planning, Ash Burdon has a wealth of resources and knowledge he can help you with. I wish you every success in the year ahead and we all look forward to being on the journey with you!
Hei kōnā mai (bye for now)
